TRANSITIONS

As we move into the Holiday Season, past the magical Winter Solstice (which, this year, coincided with an eclipse as well as a full moon - a very rare occasion), we enter a time of "inbetweens." The rain has made me a bit loopy and the powers that be are not helping with all this sparkling, Buddhist energy going around. Makes me want to do some yoga.

As I ponder questions like, "Am I channeling Black Swan today, or White Swan?" and, "Am I going to be thoughtful and kind today, or completely selfish and disrespectful?" a less hypothetical one comes to mind: "Is it safe to go ice skating?" This is what was most urgent in my mind and it needed solving. To be brief, the final consensus was "No!" and I've never been so lucky to have raised up a white flag as I was tonight. I ended up at Villain's Tavern. There, we ordered and sipped on earl-grey infused gin and spiked hot chocolate.

The best part of the night? A live, unsuspected show. The WIld Reeds sang a sweet couple of tunes that kept us taken for quite some time. This is not a band to be missed. We see great things in their future. They do a cover of "Saint Louis Blues" that just about had our jaws on the floor.

So it's time to decide: black or white? Here or there? Now or never? This will be one interesting year to come. Happy everything.
